Dear Phil:

Great NASOC News Cover of "Singers on parade." Where was it taken?
Looks to my feeble eyes like one of the cars was sporting a Virginia plate, and there seemed to be an I-69 sign in the distance.

There was a Virginia plate, East-Virginia I believe.

Theat would be Mr. Bil Haley in his 4A as we were on our rally as part of the Stowe 2005 festivities.

I did not spot a credit, but I think that great photo of the Stowe Rally was taken by Dave Norton in his 4AD (Michigan). I'm hoping for an even longer parade of Singers this year !

Hey Bill,
Welcome to the pre-war fold. I should have thought of Dave's 4 seater last year when we spoke at Stowe. I don't know if you ever went throught the virtual tour that I put together, but I had included a picture of his(your) car in it. Go to http://www3.sympatico.ca/peter.mckerche ... llery.html I look forward to seeing you at Stowe.

Peter,
Thanks so much for the welcome. I must say it is certainly a pleasant and unique experience being both a pre and post war Singer owner.
I did see the picture of my '35 on your website a few years ago, but it was not until the previous owner had passed along some photos to me that I realized it was the same car. The Singer world is indeed a small one.

Smaller than you would think. There's another Long Tail in your back yard. It belongs to a fellow I met a few years ago when Terry Trovato came to visit us in Canada. I can't recall his name. Certainly Terry would know it. There's another long tail in BC and it appears to be in pretty good shape except for a missing generator. Also in your neighborhood (Virginia) is a fellow who is restoring an early '33 Nine Sports. He has a good start on it, and hopes to have a rolling chassis this summer. I'm hoping he'll have it ready for Stowe in 2007 (nudge). With any luck I'll be debuting my '34 Le Mans at the same time - have to get a double trailer.

Anyway, I'm really glad you've gotten Dave's car out of moth balls. I look forward to seeing it side by side with mine.
