Sorry folks, we were either hacked or we had a system hard drive crash, I believe we crashed. The hard drive appears good but had no partition tables and gave errors when I tried to recreate them. Because of the timing so soon after this board went up, I was worried about a hacker but I think it was poor timing.
So anyway, we are now back up with a new and bigger hard drive and as a result I added the file/picture upload. This is limited to 800x600 pictures at this time.
A few things on the site are still not working but I am frantically getting them up and running. Sorry for losing all your data, the board had only 68 messages and I think 16 users so it was a good time to crash without a backup. I have now finished the backup utility and I sure hope this never happens again.

Thank you for what must have been a prodigious effort in restoring service so quickly. You are a huge asset to the club

Ok, I think this board is now up and running. The admin issues I was having are resolved. And for now, this Bulletin Board is up and running. I have some backup issues to resolve, a new found obsession
I did take advantage of the crash to update the server operating system and other software to latest and greatest, which has caused some headaches but start posting folks !
Now, on to minor graphic issues and some other minor things.
Have Fun and Post away!

I was asked why some people did not have to re-register after the crash and almost all of you did.
The reason is that I did a backup of the board on the 2nd day it was running while testing my automated backup utility, so I had a backup with I think 3 members registered but I did not finish the backup utility before the crash which I think was on the 6th or 7th day of the board being up and running. It was working so well and with Thanksgiving holiday, etc. I wrongly assumed I had a few days to get it finished.
For your info, the backups are now running once a day so the most we will lose is one day's messages. As the board builds up steam I will re-evaluate that and perhaps run backups more often.
One of the new things I learned with this board...backups must be regular ! in the past, I did my backups once a month or so since very little changed.
