Canadian Registrars

Post by Peter McKercher »

In a recent posting http://www.singercars.com/phpbb/viewtop ... ight=#1138
Paul Bouchard added various Registrar positions, including Wedding Redgister (sic) Registry to his title block. I assume (perhaps wrongly) that this was a tongue and cheek reference to my title block which includes Canadian Singer Registrar. Either way, I appreciate the opportunity to provide details.

For those who may be unaware, I started the Canadian Singer Registry about ten years ago with a view to tracking the whereabouts, ownership, model, year, serial numbers, etc of as many Singers as possible in Canada. It now has details on about 50 cars and continues to be consulted by list members on a regular basis. This information has also given us a leg up in NASOC for the development of a Club registry containing the same data for NASOC members.

Several list members have found cars to purchase via the Canadian Registry. Many of the members have also joined NASOC as a result of their contact with me through the Registry.

The Registry is recognized by the SOC, ASCO, NASOC, the Australian Singer Owners Club, as well as various independent Singer sites such as the Bantam Garage, The Resource Centre for Singer Roadsters and was written up with a positive recommendation by Prewarcar.com, one of the definitive voices on the web for prewar motoring.

The site itself was developed prior to any of the major Singer Club sites, with the exception of the first iteration of the NASOC site initiated with great foresight by Mike Rambour.
