Robin Throp...

Post by Phillip »

This sad news just in from the SOC UK:

ROBIN THROP

We greatly regret to announce the recent death of Robin Throp.

Robin and his wife Indira have been members and active officials of the Singer Owners' Club since the 1970's. He has been the Club Historian for many years and has been involved in the distribution of our club magazine throughout this time. We send our sincere condolences to Indira, Tony and their family. Robin will be greatly missed and a full obituary will be published in 'The Singer Owner' in due course.

Club members are welcome to attend Robin's funeral which will be held on Wednesday 29th October at 10.40am at West Herts Crematorium, High Elms Lane, Garston, Watford, WD25 0JS.

David Freeth

Robin and I first met 'way back to my early days with the SOC in the 1970's when he operated 'Manor Motors,' a car spares emporium in Hatfield. I met him a number of times at events in the UK. He owned many Singers and was a long-time friend of Ashley Crossland, the SOC Roadster Registrar. Robin was one of those stalwart SOC members that had great passion for our favourite Marque. He will be missed.
