4AD Upholstery Pleats

Post by ggvette »

I am now getting to the upholstery on my 1953 4 AD, and I was hoping someone could advise on the number and spacing
of the front and rear seats pleat lines and spacing.

Might as well get the new upholstery as close as I can to the original.

From the pics i have, there seems to be 6 pleat seams on the front seat cushions and seat backs.

Appreciate the help.

ask and you shall receive, I no longer have a 4AD but I do have pictures of the most original interior you could ever find. The reason I say that is the backseat WAS original, I had a factory NOS rear seat for the 4AD to match my front seats with. The wrapping even had the Singer part numbers, etc. and I opened it. I hated ripping up the rear seat but I wanted to match the material front to rear so I had to. The number pleats in the rear match the front along with the size of the pleats, etc.

Warning, if you click on the pictures, they are quite large to allow for details.
