Michael,
Piston to cyl wall clearance should be .001 to .002"inch. This shold be measured 90 degrees from the piston pin area.
Rule of thumb for piston ring end gap is .004" inch per inch of cyl diameter. So if the cyl bore is 2.5" diameter you should have .010" end gap.
