I need to replace the throwout bearing on the clutch in my 4AD. I am familiar with the carbon faced bearing that came on my car. I understand that it is the same as used on the MGA and MG-T series cars (Moss Part #190-290). I have also been told that Aetna Bearing makes a ball bearing replacement (#A-2013)that is lubricated for life and is a suitable replacement. Does anyone have any experience or recomendations as to which type to use?

Re: Clutch Release Bearings?
I had 40,000 miles on my 4AD when I had to pull the tranny for a different reason, the graphite bearing still looked great and I put it back in for more miles before I sold the car. I would personally prefer to use a lubed ball bearing as that would seem much more reliable but the graphite ones still to last forever as long as you keep your clutch properly adjusted and do not ride the clutch pedal anyway.
