oil pan gasket(s)?

Post by Steve »

Are there two gaskets for the oil pan on the 4AD? It looks like the two metal baffles go between the pan and the block. Is there a gasket on either side of the baffle? The parts book and the gasket kit has only one.

thanks

Just one gasket, been too long but I don't think the baffles get between the block and pan I think they sit inside (don't they ? )

Oil Pan Gaskets?

Post by BRG »

Steve & Mike,

The windage tray baffles just bolt to the block with 4 nuts as I recall.
The oil pan gasket can be made out of a large piece of 1/8" thick cork/neoprene gasket material. you can piece it together with individual pieces but I prefer 1 piece gasket.
