Here's a shot not seen before. Very poor picture, but it shows Bill Vaughan driving the Singer Special designed and built by Perry Fuller racing at Bridgehampton May 1953. It surely is an ugly beast, but surprisingly it very likely was the impetus for the design of the SMX. Note the ribbing on the rear wing.
