Engine torque reaction bracket

Postby DGreen » Sun Jun 26, 2016 2:39 pm

Does anyone have a photo of an engine and gearbox on the chassis that shows what the "engine torque reaction" bracket looks like and how functions? I have a strong suspicion that mine is missing entirely. I'm noticing that my engine rocks back and forth quite a lot, particularly when cranking it over to start. The car has been sitting for a couple of years and I had forgotten that this was a concern when I parked it.

Thanks,

Forget that last request. I see the torque reaction bracket, but I'm still perplexed as to why the engine is rocking around so much. I'll check the connection between the large arched motor mount and the water pump. I suppose it could just be wildly out of tune, but it still starts and runs. I can't wait to start driving it again.

Your front motor mount isn't broken is it? These are bad about the rubber separating from the metal.

Thanks Mark,

I'll have a better look at the front motor mount tomorrow.
