steering box

Post by Richard »

Apparently, my steering box ('53 4 AD) is on its way out and needs refurbishing or replacement. Does anyone have prior experience and guidance to share with me.
I am the 3rd owner of a '53 4AD and could use some guidance on various issues in restoring the vehicle.

steering gearbox

Post by George Cohan »

It may be the two bearings in the gearbox. Removing the gearbox and steering column is a big job. Need to remove side panel, hood, loosen or remove radiator, etc. I had it done by a good mechanic. If you need it, I have a complete steering mechanism is Good Condition, You can rotate the steering arm with out any loose wiggling. geo.cohan@hotmail.com
