4A roadster bodywork

Post by GeneA »

Some Pre-war guys clean their radiator mascots with Q-tips. We 4A roadster guys don't have time for that; we have metal to burn, filler to spread, welds to grind down, dents to dolly ...

Finally got my lazy son with the digital camera to actually walk out to the garage and take some snaps so you can see the (un)progress on the Singer.

Running boards are in bad shape. Layers of bondo covered a huge rust hole under the front angle-iron supporting bracket. (see Singer3 photo) I'm thinking about not reattaching the bracket as it seems to me it doesn't add a lot of support to the running board, and is a rust trap.

What say you guys?

Gene,

If the angle iron support was standard on the 4A, it must not have been too important. It appears to have been designed out of the 4AD running board. Neither of my 4ADs have them and I have had no problems with the one I have restored and been driving.
