Hi, I'm the guy who bought the Singer off of eBay. It's 1952 and has a 1960's Volvo drive-train. I just thought I'd stop in to say hello. I don't know much about Singers or '60s Volvos or wood bodied cars. This is a learning experience. I'll probably keep it Volvo powered and drive it a lot. It sounds pretty nice.

Looks like it should be a fun project. Body looks decent, and I really like the look of the wider tires, but too bad about those seats!:)
I imagine the Volvo engine trans sits in there fairly well, and plenty of power! I believe there are single sidedraft intake manifolds for that engine that might fit a bit better.
Has the front suspension been replaced with Volvo bits? The stock brakes, even well sorted, are the least favorite part of my 4AD.

It's supposed to have Volvo engine, gearbox, rear end and brakes. The seats are from a dune buggy. Those will get replaced. I'm looking for Singer instruments and I might get a wiring harness kit to rewire the car.
How do I check the front suspension? I'm thinking about taking the Singer on an insane 3,500 mile round trip this summer. Although I might take an NSU Sport Prinz instead. I've got a loose screw for impractical cars.

Re: Volvo powered 4AD
what do you want to check on the front suspension ? do you want to know if its Singer or Volvo ? I would start by poking around in the 4AD section of the image gallery ( http://gallery.singercars.com/index.php/ ) and comparing your car vs. the ones in the pictures. You could also take pictures of your cars front suspension and post it here.

Hi Mike. I'm sorry about the delay. Yes, I'm curious if it's a Volvo or Singer front end. Here's some photos taken with my ancient phone: https://goo.gl/photos/bgHHJFGWLCMpcFpZ7
