Singer LM 1.5 'Put Together Quickly!

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for posting the link to Martyn's triumph (no, not the Triumph marque: that would be disloyal).

Even 6 months seems very ambitious for a solo assembling of a Singer. If I told you how little I've been able to get done in six months, my membership would probably be rescinded.

Do you know if Martyn rebuilt his own engine?

It's really inspiring, even in time lapse. Quite the accomplishment!

Cheers,

David

David,
It was more of a refresh than a restoration, not to minimize the effort. I had the pleasure of driving the car when Lindsay and I stayed with him and Jasmine a few years back. It was a lovely car to drive and in excellent condition then. However, Martyn felt that his original restoration was getting long in the tooth. He intended to repaint and rechrome, but obviously went the extra mile. I guess he didn't want his Nine Coupe, which is lovely, to upstage the 1.5 litre.

Well David, no-one is counting. We all do what we can when we can. The joy of a hobby is that it is not an obligation.

Martyn's work is always sympathetic and top rate. His Coupe restoration was written up in one of the UK classic car magazines as well.

I just thought the time lapse was a clever piece of work and kudos to Martyn!
