A friend of mine said he saw a Singer on the road in Pennsylvania. He sent me this photo. My eyes could not get past the trailer ball. What a whopper! I would love to see that trailer behind it. Keep em on the road!

If it is a Singer, it must be prewar. I'm a postwar guy!

It's a Fiberfab MG TD replica(aka Migi) based on a volkswagon chassis. I used to own one in the Eighties. Note the VW tail lights, the rubber tie downs at the bottom corners of the gas tank (engine cover), the centre rib on the rear wings (MG TD), the MG TD luggage rack and the slight inward camber of the rear wheels (VW torsion bar).

Seeing the on-road photos is so much more informative!

The Junior in the photo above is simply beguiling. Thanks for posting.

Hi Peter,

What a Great looking four seater! Is it a 1935 car?

Where was this shown? Is it someone we know?

Thanks for posting the picture. It looks as though the owner and car won a (well deserved) prize.

Neat!

David

These wee ones are simply dear!

And they make such a distinctive impression: they can't be mistaken for anything else. One of many things I love about Singers.

Thanks for those sharing these photos. It's really a great opportunity to learn more about other prewar models.

Cheers, and Singer Seat Time,

David

A pity. Such a lovely recreation. By the way, I owned car #45030 and regrettably passed it on to a fellow in the States about 10 years ago. I know he did considerable restoration work on it, but to my knowledge it is not yet on the road. Certainly it would be one of the earliest (if not the earliest) remaining Nine Sports in the world.

I agree with Peter's assessment: what a lovely recreation. It's so common to have life come along and cover up the things we love.

It's my wish, Danish, that you find a way to get that lovely vehicle out to stretch its/her legs. I can almost say for sure that she would appreciate the attention. You might enjoy it, too.

Very Best from across the Puddle,

David
