Sorry Darcy. I've been out of town for a week. I should be able to get the measurements for you this week end.

Darcy
Here is a photo of the springs and ball bearings for the interlock mechanism. The ball bearings are 3/8" diameter. The springs are 3/8" by 1-9/16" long. I couldn't extract the pin without further dismantling, but have made some enquiries about it and will get back to you if I can get further info.

Darcy,
Here is a picture of the whole assembly courtesy of Martyn Wray. This should help.
The selector shafts have to be withdrawn to reveal the balls and pin. (NB; The shaft orientation
in the photo is not quite correct as the hole in the centre selector for
the pin should be horizontal). Martyn says the pin is approx. 3/8 inch (from memory).

Re: singer le mans gearbox
Thank you, the detail is great. The 3/8 is pretty close to other measurement if you allow for possible wear.
It has been a good day as I just collected a set of front seat backs to either use or us as a pattern. I just need to check the height Etc when I get back home. An earlier article I read said go for at least 20 inch backs heights.
