Hi all !
What would be the "correct" 1930's choice for the hood ?
Double layer fabric (with rubber in between), or just single layer material ?
And what would you choose for the tonneau - fabric or fake leather (PVC) ?
Also, was there an original fabric colour "code" ? The car is British Racing Green.
Thanks !

Re: Le Mans hood and tonneau
Hi Steve
I am restoring a 1934 Le Mans which still has the remnants of what is almost certainly the original hood. It consists of two layers of fabric with perished rubber in between - presumably this is/was 'double duck'. The colour of the material is black although this has faded to a grey on the outer layer. I think the hood would have been black regardless of the colour of the car. I can send you a small sample if it would be of any help to you.
Have a look at the following for a summary of hood material types.
