Grease nipples

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Its a minefield! I went down this path with the Model A Ford and the 1928 Austin Seven. By the time I had gotten the right size nipples for them I had all sorts of nice new nipples of which some fitted the king pin nicely. I never figured out what the size was. Also I never worked out to my own satisfaction what these nipple sizes mean.

Best guess is either 1/8" BSP or 5/16" BSF.

Found it in the Dave Hardwick book. 5/16 BSF, although confusingly he also quotes 5/16 SAE.

I'm coming back on the subject. The steering bar nipples are different. On my picture, the one the left is from the king pin correct 5/16 BSF, the one on the right is from the steering bar. It is also 5/16 diameter but with a larger thread pitch. Is it 5/16 SAE ? I thought SAE thread pitch was smaller than BSF ??

yes, BSW, I ran into the same thing, the nipples which all appeared original were different threads on different parts. Close enough to look right but frustratingly not close enough to fit.
