Re: US8155

I don't suppose anyone has the missing ADV RET and throttle levers. I have the tubes but the levers are missing. A nice to have, but not essential so I'll probably do without.

More photos from John on the progress with the steering column. He's managed to marry a modern horn button to the bakelite disk that I found behind the door card.

Re: US8155

Hi Colin, there are videos on YouTube on how to sew flutes but they all seem to make hard work of it. Back in my youth I used hesian backing and felt padding but nowadays I would use cotton wadding. Sew the leather to the hesian before using a couple of steel rules to push the wadding through. Caref...

Re: 4AD running board rubber ends

I was once told by a chrome plating shop that you can't plate over soft solder but I have recently used lead-free solder as 'filler' without any problem. I would still use silver solder for strength, though.

Re: The Restoration of AYW709

The hood frame drawings are in the Gallery. Go to Gallery and search for 'hood'.

On my 1935 car I had to make some adjustments - see the following altered drawings:

Re: The Restoration of AYW709

I finally managed to upload the schematic of the previous harness - it was 1 pixal too high! Feel free to add fuses/relays as you like but remember, left and right side lights must be separately fused and the purpose of a fuse is to protect the wire from short circuits which is difficult to achieve ...

Re: US8155

Sadly, No. I did consider Ivory and sage green but in the end I decided that ivory and green are more suited to a small sports car whereas this Lagonda lookalike deserved something more sophisticated and I'm going for dark green (RAL6012). I'm hoping it will look as good as this: Lagonda rear lights...

Re: Water temperature and oil pressure gauges

I've done the same with some of my dials but I print onto waterproof self-adhesive labels using a laser printer and stick them on the back of the original dials. The waterproof labels are not suitable for inkjet printers.
