Re: still looking
Have you tried posting with the UK SOC facebook group. I think you will have better luck there.

Re: JH 6802 Finally Arrives
Thanks Colin. It was an extremely challenging restoration. Literally everything was wrong with it.

Re: JH 6802 Finally Arrives
Hard to believe, but it's almost time to put my Le mans to bed for the winter. It was a late start for the season, but long enough to shake out all the bugs that arise after a long restoration and 60 years off the road. A few minor details to deal with over the winter, but nothing major. With luck, ...

Re: Le Mans Boot (Luggage Space) Cover
Dave - I can't say for sure what the original was, but I believe black leathercloth. In terms of installation, here are some originals from back in the day, some from a fairly original car (green) which retains the style but not the original material, and my own based on the green car. On mine, I om...

A minor correction on Phil's post. The owner is Martyn Cragg.

Re: Le Mans recreation
Good heavens Jan, don't feel guilty about ownership of this car. It appears to be well executed and it is a Singer. I would point out that Dave Hardwick started to build a replica as well and unfortunately did not finish. However, it is now in the hands of another club member who is completing the c...

JH 6802 Finally Arrives
It's been a long time coming, but my '34 Le Mans is finally on the road. A couple of initial glitches to be expected, but after about fifty miles, all appears to be well. Over to you Mike.

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
No easy answer except make it fit as well as possible. I had all the same issues. I assume when they were on the assembly line, they had a panel beater on staff full time to make things fit. I have a gap of about 1 1/4" along the bottom of the bottom. It's not unsightly or obvious. DSC_0088.JPG...

Re: Le Mans recreation
Sounds like you are talking about the Lemaitre car chassis #48424. If so, it was originally a standard 1933 Singer Nine Sports, painted red with red wheels. It was shipped to Holland May 10th 1933. The original owner apparently commissioned coachbuilder Lemaitre to do the body modifications. Phil Av...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
You have the concept correct. I will get some more pics though. I had one original wing nut, so I had four new ones cast. I still have the original if you want to have some cast for yourself. I don't know of any source for them. Maybe someone in the SOC knows. I would image that all the '34 Le Mans ...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
I had to make the stepped bolts. As you have noticed, they are usually missing as are the wing nuts. You will also see on the side of the valance there is a notched hole where the bolt fits through. The wing nut actually goes through this. It is not tightened against the valance. The notch allows th...
