Re: WANTED Singer Car Owners Information

Re: STOWE 2012 OFFICAL THREAD - CHECK HERE FOR LATEST NEWS..
As Phil and Paul may correct me. I do not think that Stowe has been a NASOC Sactioned event. NASOC has not been billed for any costs for this event.
This year though I would like to propose an awards budget. Executives please contact me through the proper channel.

Peter & all,
I hope by now NN#6 2011 and #1 2012 should be in the hands of all. O.S. issues might still be in route. Phil informed me # 6 was delayed because of a major computer failure and the whole issue had to be regenerated. I think Phil has a new computer now??

Re: The Dreaded Question: Prices!
This is a 4AD model. The twin carb version is the rarer one but they came out late 1952 or so. From the pictrues and you statement was driven under its own power and brakes. i would venture a guess as to $3,000- 6,000. Again depending on what has been done and to how original the drive train is. Fro...

Paint codes/formulas
I am asking this of all Singer owners. If you have a paint formula for the original colors for the 4AD or any other Singers pre-Rootes please let us know so we can help other Singer owners. Thanks.

Re: 4AD Brake Light Switch
Stephen,
The switch is Lucas # 31281, fits Sunbeam 90 and Alpine 1949-56, Morgan Plus Four 1949, Austin A-90 Atlantic 1949, Hillman Husky 1957. Here are a couple of pictures and it is attached at that bracket with a spring hooked to the brake pedal that pulls the plunger on the switch.

Re: 4AD Oil Filter Spring
Guys, Be aware that the filter on the 4AD is a bypass type filter which only filters a small portion of the oil that flows into the crank and other areas. So keep the oil changes more frequent. I make a conversion using a Sunbeam Alpine oil filter and a couple of MGA locator plates to replace the M-...

Re: Building spark plug wires
Fred,
There is a procedure in the owners manual on adjusting the upper timing chain tension. Also check the spring on the plunger adjuster and make sure it is not broken.
