Re: Washer stuck in timing chain
I believe I would try to locate a video borescope and see what is going on down below. They are not expensive compared to an engine disassembly or an oil pan removal. If the washer drops in the oil pan, it will be difficult to retrieve.

Any idea what is mounted to the front bumper of the Singer in the garage photo. It looks too high for a badge bar. Surely it isn't a brush guard.

Mike, Not to change the subject, but ......... I saw in your opening statement that you said that you play with guns too much. I didn't think that was possible until I blew my right leg off Memorial Weekend! I was shooting a 75 year old Japanese 8mm Nambu when it misfired. The bullet entered my righ...

Singers on the road!
image.jpeg A friend of mine said he saw a Singer on the road in Pennsylvania. He sent me this photo. My eyes could not get past the trailer ball. What a whopper! I would love to see that trailer behind it. Keep em on the road! If it is a Singer, it must be prewar. I'm a postwar guy! Mark Thompson

Your front motor mount isn't broken is it? These are bad about the rubber separating from the metal.

Re: Carb Help - Rebuild, wrong carb?
I agree that the site has a lot of parts, but I couldn't find a Solex 30 FAI carburetor, rebuild kit or starter air jet #4.

Re: Carb Help - Rebuild, wrong carb?
I know that different manufacturers of carburetors use different standards, but does anybody know what standards the Solex is based on. I believe the jets are metric and a 125 jet means that it is 1.25mm orifice. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone drilled a 115 jet to make a 125 jet with s...

Re: Rebirthing one '34 from a '33 & a '34
I have a Walker #21035 muffler that I purchased for my 1953 4ADT. I purchased it from Tractor Supply Corporation and yes, it is for a Massey-Ferguson tractor. The inlet measures 1 5/8 inch OD and is slotted (not flared). The outlet is 1 5/8 inch OD and is flared. I believe a 1 1/2" OD pipe will...

Re: Merry Xmas
Merry Christmas to Y' All! It's an unprecedented 70 degrees here in Nashville, Tennessee. I am out enjoying this beautiful weather on Christmas Eve driving my Singer around town for some last minute Christmas shopping and errands. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year! Mar...

Singer & WWII Production
Life is not always just about cars! This may be an interesting tidbit to some of you. I enjoy collecting guns, almost as much as tinkering with my Singer. I recently purchased a WWII British rifle with an interesting history. The Lee-Enfield was the standard issue rifle for the British in WWII. As a...

Huge difference in pricing with international shipping. The third link is reasonable for USA.

Re: Door ajustment
I used a turnbuckle to adjust the door on my 4AD that has a similar door design. I used rods and drilled through the end boards and countersunk the nuts. On my car, there was sufficient clearance to pass the center support board with a 1/4" rod (a strap would even be better). You just have to o...
