The Dorman 565-021 is no longer available. Does anyone have a recommendation for a 4AD head freeze plug?

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
Just as I thought the photo files were too large to post here. I will e-mail them to you. I have this problem every time that I try. Mike has helped me in the past. Maybe there is some way Mike can post directions on the forum that would be readily available to incompetent people like me. Bes...

Peter McKercher's 2008 Singer Calendar
This morning I was glancing at the wonderful Singer calendar that Peter McKercher produced for 2008 and noticed something interesting. Calendars have a way of recycling themselves (repeating). Since 2008 was a leap year it will be quite awhile before 2008 repeats (2036, 2064, 2092....), but starting...

Re: Tyres for 4AD
That is Coker tire in Chattanooga, TN. I have had excellent experience with them and their tires are reasonably priced. Have you had a bad experience with them? Just Curious.

Re: Water Pump Seals
Glad to help. Be sure to examine the water pump housing for a smooth mating surface for the seal. See the note above about resurfacing the pump housing if needed. Good luck.

Re: Water Pump Seals
Hello Stephen, Yes, it is a snug fit that requires pressing in. You shouldn't have to use great force to get it to go in though. If you are having a problem you might try leaving the seal in the freezer for a couple of hours before pressing in. As I recall the second part is a ceramic face that is u...

Put a hundred miles on my car yesterday. 90 degrees outside and ran great with no stalling! I'm pleased.

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
Today, I installed a Pertronix electronic ignition module in my 1952 4AD to replace the points & condenser. My distributor is a Lucas DKY4A # 40167. I used Part No. LU-146LSP12 from O'Reilly's Auto Parts for about $160 including shipping. It can also be ordered directly from Pertronix using thei...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
Paul, I sincerely appreciate your interest and willingness to work on this project for Singer ignition systems. I am sure you would deliver a quality product that would perform well. My feeling is that most of our members that are running stock 4AD engines would want to keep the engine looking as or...

The 4AD distributor appears to be 2 5/8" ID (2.625).

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
I am not clear on how the spark plugs actually fire. It looks to me like you connect spark plug wires from the coil directly to the sparkplugs. Your distributor shows a modified cap with no spark plug wires connected to it. Will your module work with a stock distributor cap (without rotor) installed...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
We need to get some idea about the cost. I realize it would depend on quantity. Can you give us an idea what it would cost for 1, 6, 12 or more? Also, it would be helpful to see a picture of what the wires and spark plug connectors could look like and a picture and dimensions for the coil. This info...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
I would definitely be interested, but I have some questions. The 4AD and 4ADT use different distributors, so I am guessing they would require diferent modules. Also, we would like to maintain our vintage look. Your wesite says that the kit includes the module, coil & wires. Would these all look ...
