Re: STOWE 2011 A SUCCESS & WE ARE THE FEATURED MARQUE IN 2012!!!

While evidence of a very rainy season at Stowe abounded, conditions couldn’t have been better for the annual Singer trek. The weather was picture perfect, the company, as usual, was warm and friendly and the turnout of cars was exceptional. One of the highlights this year was the unveiling of Patric...

Re: Removing rear bearings from axle LM / Roadster

Mikey - I'm with Jason. The way that axle flew across the room when it let go was pretty awesome.

Re: Removing rear bearings from axle LM / Roadster

Take it to a machine shop and have them press it out. The last one I had separated took about 500 lbs pressure and sent the axle flying across the room. There was no way I could do it myself without destroying the carrier.

Stowe 2011

Just a reminder that the British Invasion is once again sneaking up on us. The dates are September 16-18. With at least 3 lovely new cars registered for the event, it should prove to be an interesting time once again. Don't wait for an invitation. The hotels are already booking up.

Looks like the Professor is not the only one lecturing. Except he has valid credentials and uses an appropriate forum.

Re: Interesting link on Morgan / Singer Dealer...

Absolutely. Hermen and I have been collaborating on the Fergus issue. He was quite appreciative of the information I was able to pass on to him and plans to update his site accordingly. As far as Google goes, I fully agree with you. It is a marvellous tool for finding obscure data and, more importan...

Re: Interesting link on Morgan / Singer Dealer...

Phil Glad I was able to point you in the right direction with the last issue of my regular "News and Views". FYI, in addition to the ex Dave Craig car, former NASOC President Larry Springer emailed me to inform that he too had owned a Fergus sold roadster. Although he sold the car, he stil...

Re: Ottawa British Car Day

British Car Day in Ottawa passed with no rain. Usually, no matter what the forecast, we get horizontal precipitation at 3:00 PM, as the field sits on a peninsula extending into the Ottawa River. It was an excellent show with a record attendance of 197 cars with some truly spectacular vehicles which ...

Re: Ashby Steering Wheel

Dave
Dave Hardwick of the UK SOC supplies them new. The only difference is the 3 pieces that separate the spokes are a little more square than the original. If I recall correctly, the price of restoring is about the same price as the new one.

Re: SOC UK 60th Anniversary National Weekend...

Yes indeed I was there and then took a tour of Scotland just to cap off the trip, arriving home late last evening. The 60th anniversary was everything I expected in terms of the unique array of Singers and warm welcome from every member of the Singer Owners Club present. I took many pictures - far t...

Re: Stone Guards....

Dave has quit making them as they have to be fit individually to each wing as all these things are hand made and subject to variation. A good panel beater should have no difficulty making them. However, if the panel beater is accustomed to working in steel, expect some difficulties. Aluminum is quit...
