Re: Wiring loom cover
Here's a bit more on the wiring loom cover... This is the remains of the one that came with my 1934 Sports 4 seater. It's only the bottom half and you can see the weak point where they all seem to break off: Wiring Loom Cover Remains_web.jpg Here's the complete unit mounted on my spare steering box ...

A Very Special Gift...
What a great group of enthusiasts this Singer community is! A package arrived for me yesterday that was a surprise and a delight. Something very special in meaning to "Baby Blue" my 1936 Singer Le Mans Special Speed Model. It is a badge. Quite a nice one. And a special gift from Tony Rayno...

Got home and measured up the length. It is 28 inches.

Re: Wiring loom cover
Hey Darcy,
I will try to fit the cover I have to my steering column on the '33 Nine Sports and see where we end up.
Hopefully I haven't made a mistake in the rush to note down the length. I'll recheck when I get home - I'm still at work!

Re: Wiring loom cover
Hey Darcy, This cover is from a RHD '35 le Mans 4 seater. I assume the only difference would be that the large cutout would be on the other side. That said, the parts catalogs talk about LHD '30's Sports models but I have never seen one! I have seen a LHD Junior Sports in the USA and a few LHD Banta...

Hey Wiring Loom Cover Enthusiasts! Here is a quick sketch with the dimensions for this unicorn of Singerdom. NOTE - the drawing is not to scale: Wiring Loom Cover.jpg And here is some detail on the spring clips. These are riveted on top of the cover: Wiring Loop Spring Clips.jpg Some Data in case th...

Re: Wiring loom cover
Hey Darcy,
I'll dig it out and take measurements and some photos this week and post as soon as I can.
This is certainly another piece of Singer "Unobtainium!"

Re: Wiring loom cover
Yes, I have one! Time to dig it out and measure it up! If you want to make it 'as original' it's a bit of a bitch given the folds in the steel. I had contemplated making one out of aluminium. And the spring clips are an odd shape too. They all seem to break at the thin point near one end. I have the...

Re: New Project
Hey Colin,
My Senior glass seems to have been put in with something resembling window glass putty and appears to be original, although that is just an observation, not a confirmed fact.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Phillip

Re: Lockheed done. New project started...
Hey David, My pleasure. Yes, the set from Metro is sold to actually cover and protect the front carpets, but we cut them down to match the size of the mat depicted in the handbooks and either use snap fasteners or screws and cupwashers. For each set you can do two cars. It's been the closest thing t...

Well...there's one in this car that looks similar too!
And two other things that will make a great project...not oval though!
