Tour Optic 2000
The Tour Auto Optic 2000 will take place in France, from 29th April to 4th May 2019. It will start from the Grand Palais (Paris) to finish in Deauville via five legs. This year the race pays homage to all the 'forgotten British Marques'...perhaps Singers are eligible? Any of our Singer owners in Fra...

Gene Mulder
I recently received the very sad news that long-time NASOC member Gene Mulder passed away. Lynn and Gene_Web.jpg Gene and Lynn, along with Sophie the driving dog, were regular supporters of the club and the marque in their trusty red 4AD, often appearing at the British Invasion and Mad Dogs & En...

Re: Review of SM1500 in the next Automobile mag
The Automobile is one of my favourite magazines and the articles are usually well-researched and in-depth. I look forward to getting my copy to check out the review of this very orignal SM-1500 saloon. A brave and costly attempt at Singer to break into the USA export market. The Automobile SM-1500.j...

Re: New Project
Hey Colin,
Presently it does on my car, but the interior was redone in California in a horrible blue velour with blue carpets. Probably back in the '80's.
I've also been told the Seniors had lino originally, but I cannot verify that. All the cars I've seen had carpet.

Re: New Project
Hey Colin, Very interesting! The sill plates on my Senior are the other way around so do read from the outside! Your clutch is similar in design also. Quite a contraption to sort out and makes for a massively heavy flywheel. The project is really looking like a car now! Lovely to see it coming back ...

Hi Pre- Warriors!
Everyone who ordered brackets should have them by now, so if you have not got one yet, please let us know!
And thanks to everyone for supporting the project!

Re: lockheed decal
For future reference on this topic, I came across this photo from Popular Motoring, the Singer in-house magazine. 12HP Lockheed Tank_1938.jpg It's the Lockheed tank used on the 1938 Singer Twelve and it has the 'two sided' transfers that we've seen on the MG SA versions sold elsewhere. The cap is wh...

Re: Wiring loom cover
Glad you were able to score the last set for your car Darcy. They are heavy blighters, especially in a set of four, and I can only imagine the postage costs to your part of the world!

Re: Thanks for the add
Hey David,
If the original engine and transmission.are there and you don't plan to use them, let us know. Any Singer parts would be helpful to other owners who are restoring their cars.
Look forward to seeing how your project comes together...

Re: Wiring loom cover
LOL! That was a project that I did with Paul Bouchard and Len Pearcey. Len made up the patterns and we funded the batch. A steep learning curve on the variations of backplates and drum types between 33 and 37, but we did them. Len passed away, but the foundries that did the work also didn't want to ...

Re: Thanks for the add
Hey David, That's perfect! A bit hard to read, as they can sometimes be... That would make it a 1952 Singer 4AD Roadster - LHD - and most likely a single carb engine. Hope that helps! This number (the "car number") would also be stamped on a large brass plate screwed onto the tool deck und...

Unless the DMV is using the radiator tag as a serial number!
This looks like quite a project!
