Thanks, 8 pints makes sense as the old manual says 1 gallon.

Made up a temp for now to those measurements and it fits perfectly, tomorrow I load the oil.

Hi could someone post a photo showing the shape and length of the original dip stick for the standard tin sump? I don’t have one and straight bar hits the crank.

Hi again, I also have one of the 4A versions on the left, this should be easier to make with only a slight variation to your jig and do the same job - I need to get all the bits I have screwed down in place, another small job for a late night.

Thanks, I only have oxy/lpg but will give it a go. I just need to find the steel, the rest I can make, and yes same for steering column clamps. Next thing I need is more time. I mounted the spare tyre on new post last night and looked over oil gauge attachment, but birthday party today for number 6 ...

You may also have done this but - put in gear, clutch out, and rock car backwards and forwards for as long as you have the energy - hoping to move the engine a fraction each time?

A thought, could the clutch be seized to the the fly wheel and coupled with the seized gears means nothing is turning, easily????
