Re: The Dreaded Question: Prices!

Tom/Mark I agree that $6k would be a steal, if the basics are solid and the chrome is done, but that's the penalty to the seller for putting the car on the market without tending to the aesthetics. That's not selling the marque short, that's just reality. I have an MG TD that is in the same state an...

Re: Another Pre-War Singer in North America...

Those of you who purchased the Singer Owners Calendar I produced several years back will recognize Charlie's car. It truly is a lovely looking machine and worthy of a good home for anyone looking for entry to the pre war Singer set.

Re: about time...GARAGE FINISHED

No self respecting Singer should have to endure this. However, her new home will be dry walled next week and she and her brother the Le Mans can move into their new home.

I think I'm catching up with you Mike.

Le Mans Dash

For my pre war friends who are restoring their Le Mans in parallel to mine. Just completed my dash board. I found a lovely piece of Brazilian walnut that will look stunning in the Le Mans cockpit.

darcy
I thought you might be interested in knowing that Martyn Wray of the SOC recently took his '33 Nine Sports Coupe axles to the machine shop to have them extracted from their respective hubs - 10 tons pressure to remove one side, 15 tons to do the other.

Re: 4AD OUT OF DEEP STORAGE

Godspeed Forrest. Hopefully the addition of your two cars will put the event over the top. There are a couple of other potential never been seen cars that could show up, including one pre war. I'd like to say it will be an event never to be forgotten, but I'd prefer to say that it will be the new no...

Re: New Member, Zenith Carb

Fred I think we all recall that car and the price it was listed at. As I remember, there were some anomolies, but the workmanship certainly was apparent. If it was your Dad's work, you can be very proud. Regarding the price, yes we were all a little shocked. However, Singer roadsters, until recently...

Re: 2 Down, 1 1/2 to go

Just dashing outside to strip my Le Mans gas tank in preparation for pressure test and prep for paint. To my delight the inside of the tank is pretty much spotless. While it certainly appears to be the original (with embossed X's on either side), I find it hard to understand that it isn't covered in...

Re: 2 Down, 1 1/2 to go

Yay, progress Mike. I too have been working on the LM. Rad shell is in for rechroming (ouch) and I completed the new wire mesh for the front of it. It too is in for chroming. I also cut the new dash. I had been looking for a nice piece of Walnut but was unable to find a single board wide enough (9 3...

Re: STOWE 2011 A SUCCESS & WE ARE THE FEATURED MARQUE IN 2012!!!

While evidence of a very rainy season at Stowe abounded, conditions couldn’t have been better for the annual Singer trek. The weather was picture perfect, the company, as usual, was warm and friendly and the turnout of cars was exceptional. One of the highlights this year was the unveiling of Patric...

Mikey - I'm with Jason. The way that axle flew across the room when it let go was pretty awesome.
