We look sooo young! lol!

I guess this now qualifies as a 'vintage photograph!'

Re: Another Coupe in the US

Let's hope it finds a good home.

She's very similar to BPH-65, Kim Mistretta's '34 Coupe...black and red instead of black and green...

This is another quite original early Coupe with lovely patina. Photo was taken in Kim's garage last year.

Re: Replica waterslide transfers

David,

If these work out and you have a reliable source and a durable product, can they do the Lockheed brake reservoir as well?

I've been messing around with home printers and model makers hobby water transfers, but perhaps this is a better route?

Cheers,
Phillip

Re: Another Coupe in the US

Good to see old APP 49 resurface! Haven't seen it out since 2006 and these look like the same photos I have. The white gauges are an interesting mod, but otherwise a largely unmolested example of an early Coupe.

Re: New Project

Hey Colin, Just a thought on your piston problem: Are the pistons in the engine split skirt or solid? I just took delivery of a set of Triumph 1200 pistons to use in my '28 Senior engine. They are of the solid variety and the math indicates that they need +4 thou in the bore to allow for expansion. ...

Re: SHOP TO REBUILD A 1948 ENGINE

Rick and his wife Judy are still avid Singer owners and join us at Stowe for the British Invasion every year.

They still have the A Series Roadster, which our President, Paul Bouchard has assisted with, but they also now own a nicely restored 4AD Roadster.

Re: Original 1934 Le Mans

Another mutual friend that Bob and I knew in the VEAE was Ed Richardson. A true bon-vivant and RAF Spitfire pilot, Ed, or 'Tasio Ricardo' to his friends, was never short of attractive young women on his arm. He drove a '31 MG D-Type and often diced with me in the '33 Sports at our sporting events. M...

Re: Original 1934 Le Mans

Bob, I well remember that Westmount Examiner photo and have a copy somewhere. It's a charming photo! Here's another one of AVM in competition, albeit much more informal. AGX_AVM_Gymkana.jpg The event is the VEAE Gymkana held at the Hewitt factory parking lot, circa mid-70's. AGX-857, my 1933 Sports,...

Re: new owner of 53 roadster

Hey Jim, Welcome to the board and welcome to the world of Singers. You'll find us a friendly and supportive group. The 4AD Roadster is the cornerstone of the North American Singer Owners Club as they made up the bulk of sales here. We'd be happy to include you in our numbers, so look over the site a...

Re: Original 1934 Le Mans

Oh...and there was also the feature article on AVM in the CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) members magazine, written, if I recall correctly, by Pierre Ouimette, who was a founding member of our local Vintage European Automobile Enthusiasts club. My first Editors job was on that club magazine ma...

Re: Original 1934 Le Mans

AVM also went on to enjoy a stint in film and TV, featuring most notably as the car driven by Michael York in 'A Man Called Intrepid', made in 1979. A teenager at the time, I worked on the film and looked after Bob's Singer while it was in the care of the production company. We spent many hours shoo...

Re: Original 1934 Le Mans

Welcome to the site Bob!

And congratulations on discovering the rich history of your Le Mans. I have to confess the AVM prefix tugged at my memory banks and now I know why. I never put two-and-two together though. Amazing!

Cheers,
Phillip
