4AD Front Brake Assembly
Steve, Yes, the springs hook in the backing plate and the shoe. I took some pictures of my brake assemblies with the wheel hub removed. Iwas unable to attach the pictures on the bulletin board because they were greater than 800x600 pixels. If you want to view them send me your e-mail address and I w...

British Bash 2006 - Louisville, KY
Last weekend was the British Bash car show in Louisville, KY. This was my first time to visit and my 1952 4AD was quite a hit. This was the largest British car show they ever had in Louisville and had 256 entries in the show. My car was the first Singer most of the folks had ever seen. One local TV ...

Flywheel/Starter Ring Gear
I am working on my second Singer 4AD restoration. I have some questions regarding the mounting of the starter ring gear on the flywheel. When I disassembled my clutch and bell housing, I noticed that a number of modifications had been made to the assembly. The bottom of the bell housing had a chunk ...

Rubbers Weatherstrip
I used the piping from Moss Motors (Part #249-120) and it worked well. One set is not quite long enough (9 yards). They have black, red & green. 1-800-667-7872.

4AD Brakes
Can anyone tell me what type fittings are used on the steel brake lines on the 4AD? What type of flare on the tubing? What is the thread on the fittings? Does anyone have a source for 5/32" compression ferrules for the manifold drain lines?

Stuff for sale from NASOC?
Where can I find a current list of items for sale from the club? Are club badges still availbale? What about golf type shirts? Are parts such as gaskets & rubber items available through the club? I see items listed in the NASOC news, but they don't show up on the web site.

Restoring Bakelite Finish
Thanks, Peter. That is the kind of information I was looking for. Painting was an unacceptable solution.

Restoring Bakelite Finish
Does anyone have any recommendations for restoring the finish to old bakelite electrical parts? I would like to reuse old spark plug wire connectors, trafficator switch, horn button, distributor cover, fuse block, etc.. They are unsightly in their present condition but are perfectly functional. Any ...

Singer 4AD Heater?
There is currently a 1954 4ADT for sale on E-Bay. It claims to have a "factory-installed" heater. This is the first I have ever heard of a 4AD with a heater. The photos on E-bay show the hoses routed through the engine compartment. I purchased a 1953 4ADT that appears to have heater hose c...

Nashville Car Show
Peter, Thanks for the comments. The Nashville Show had quite a collection in 2004. We had a group of Brits touring the States with a Jaguar Club. They brought their cars across the pond and stopped off at our show. It was quite an impressive colection. My car is a restored barn find. It had been sit...

I used turnbuckles and threaded rod to align my doors as well. To secure the end of the threaded rod, I used a special fitting I found at Home Depot. It is a small steel cylinder with a threaded hole through the side. You can drill intersecting holes in the wood framing and screw the threaded rod in...
