Thanks Paul, I need to examine the door closer. I can propably figure out the correct position and dimensioning of the support strip from the old parts now that I know there should be such a strip. Thanks for the hood seal drawings as well. Can you also tell which type of ruber the seals are, are th...

Re: 4AD Trim

No 2 cars are alike :) I am starting to feel the same, quite confusing. I have also found and heard about quite a lot of differences between Singer individuals. My car is a 1954 model but according to factory records it left the factory as late as April 1955. This far it is the only confirmed Singe...

Thanks Mike. In some sense there is no point fabricating so many parts myself because some of those parts are available. However after restoring a couple of cars already i have found out the main point in this hobby for me is the fact that i can work with my handsa dn become better at that. By doing...

Hi, I manufactured new side grilles myself. It did require manufacturing a couple of special tools but they turned out just perfect. I used stainless steel as the material, that way i avoided the need to chrome them. Polished stainless steel is just like chrome, only slightly more yellow. Some pictu...

Hi Dave,

If you still need pictures about these plates I can take some photos for you. I should have those and an engine block in my garage.

Thank you all for your comments. One thing I've been wondering is the color of the engine/gearbox. When restoring the engine i asked also here about the engine color. Most comments said the correct color is "primer" red and many pictures indeed show red engines. However the engine in my ca...

My Singer 4AD restoration project website

Hi, I am currently in the middle of a full ground up restoration of a 1954 Singer 4ADT. The chassis is ready, as well as repairing the bodywork. I am currently adjusting the fit of the body panels and preparing the body for painting. I have created a website about the Singer and my previous restorat...
