including the missing top corner on the middle left side?
This makes the repair easy, the top one is good enough to copy.
The bottom one is broken in pieces....

original trunk lid
I have 2 trunk lids, one is complete rotten but is from the car. The other not bad, maybe once repaired, but a little different. 20210728_203829b.jpg What is the original woodwork inside? The one on top has one piece of wood in a corner, the other not, but this one has a part of wood extra in the mi...

Re: Misc pieces for the 4AD
The pedal rubbers, try the one from the Series MM Morris minor, they are the same, scott's old auto rubber in Australia has them. In the list on his website you can see they have the same part numbers. The door lock, also a Morris part (ESM Minors; Door Locating Plate & Socket Kit), and the fuel...

And now the gas cable connections and routings, I made something on the rocker cover to mount the cable, but he is not perfect...

Re: remove filler from Le Mans gas tank
Before to use any fire in the old tank, just clean with water. I did it also with mine, after I found out the outgoing pipe was blocked. It is possible the old coating will burn, but not give a boom. Another option is when you only need a part, and the rest is scrap: drill a hole in the tank, ad use...

Re: Tire size for spare wheel well 52 4AD
What problem you have?
Does the tire not go in the place, or is the boot lid the problem?
There should be an oval hole for the tire, maybe this is the problem?

Re: Links for rear shock absorber 52 4AD
I used a modified universal rubber from Kramp, important is the shore, and the measurements.
The modification is just remove the standard welded nuts on the outside.
The engine on the picture is the standard nine for the 4A

I also placed pictures with measurements in the restoration part from Josandra, but if you need more specific data, I can take a picture with measurements from that part.
But mine was also not complete, I had to make wooden parts double because of wrong places from holes\

Re: mechanical front brake issue on 1946
When it is the same as the 1950, the first question is, do you have the right parts on the front brakes?
The mechanism front and rear is different.
Ans a remark, avoid using only capital letters, standard text is easier to read.

Re: Starter bench test
A short test on that way gives enough information for the basic condition. In most of the times, repairing from the starter is not a big issue, mine from the 4A has the same parts as the Morris Minor starter, and you can buy it on the well known Ebay. When all is moving, and no heavy rust on the mov...

Re: Starting Handle 4AD
A head gasket is something I like to have on stock, for my 4A. I have more than one here. It is just looking for the right type, I am sure you will find them on ebay. Also it is good to look inside, because a rusty place can damage your piston rings. But also, a few days WD40 inside, and some force ...

Re: Starting Handle 4AD
take the starter out, and try to set a big screwdriver on the flywheel, then you can try both directions.
But start with spark plugs out, and some WD40 in the cylinders.
