Re: Building spark plug wires

to repair the drive end you need to remove the starter.

1. make sure the starter drive is not stuck, try rotating the motor by hand a little bit.

2. did you remember that polarity on these toys is backwards ?

3. starter ??? these things don't need a starter !!! get out your hand crank :)

down time and why were we down so long

The server that hosts this web site was hacked on Oct 22 at about 10:46AM, I learned of it at noon same day. This website was not hacked and is all good but what they did to the server was install a root kit which gave the hackers administrative privileges to everything. From the logs, they did not ...

Re: SINGER 9 ON EBAY

Ok, I take what I said about it being restorable back if it has the wrong engine, I just saw a "engine" in there and assumed it was the correct one. Have to slow down my web browsing I guess.

Easily restorable car as its mostly complete, I am sure there are missing parts but it would be a shame to break this car up for parts as its quite nice.

Re: New Member, Zenith Carb

30k for a 4AD ? I bet that car is still for sale... Now to answer your question about the carb, if the car runs, keep it. The Solex 30FAI is hard to find and unless you are looking for a concours restoration, I would not bother changing out the carb if it runs good. No, they did not come with Zenith...

some down time

Server was offline this morning for about 4 hours, sorry. And some more sorries, it will be again a few times this week, although I expect never more than 10-15 minutes. A power transformer blew up in my neighborhood and caused all kinds of havoc with the power, even though the server is "prote...

Re: 2 Down, 1 1/2 to go

perfect, I measured my Sprites mesh tonight and it was 24 per inch, but the Le Mans screen was 32 holes per inch, 30 is good enough for me, I placed the order it will delay starting the motor a few days but worth it. Thanks !

Re: 2 Down, 1 1/2 to go

Good idea...it may fit. I am work right now but I think the 4AD one would be too small, its been years since I had a 4AD motor apart but I seem to remember it being smaller than the 1.5's, I will check tonight. The mesh itself would be great, where did you buy it and what size mesh was it (# of hole...

Re: 2 Down, 1 1/2 to go

success ! Got the half broken half drilled stud that had a wood screw out and found that while it was crooked it did not break through the threads until near the top, I have good material for putting a stud in. Ordered the studs today, they will be here next week so I am off my fantasy of trying to ...
