Re: Wiper Motor Wiring and Shift Knob
Hi Fred, The wiring for the wiper motor on my car has a grey plastic covering and is somewhat flat. I assume it's two wires in the sheath. The clips are very simple flat metal lips with a hump at one end for the wiring to pass under. I've attached a photo, but I'm not sure how clear it is. As for th...

Gearbox mounts supplier?
Hello,
My gearbox mounts in the 4AD are apparently getting kind of soft and not so effective. Is the a known supplier for these mounts?
Thanks,
D'Arcy

Thanks Mark,
I'll have a better look at the front motor mount tomorrow.

Re: Engine torque reaction bracket
Forget that last request. I see the torque reaction bracket, but I'm still perplexed as to why the engine is rocking around so much. I'll check the connection between the large arched motor mount and the water pump. I suppose it could just be wildly out of tune, but it still starts and runs. I can't...

Engine torque reaction bracket
Does anyone have a photo of an engine and gearbox on the chassis that shows what the "engine torque reaction" bracket looks like and how functions? I have a strong suspicion that mine is missing entirely. I'm noticing that my engine rocks back and forth quite a lot, particularly when crank...

Re: 1952 Singer 4AD Restoration
Great looking restoration! It looks like the car had some interesting stable mates with the DKW 1000sp and the Daimler sp250.

Re: Gazelle Convertible
Is that the black convertible from Vancouver Island that was for sale a few months ago, with the original National Motors decal on the boot lid? If so, I spoke with the owner about the car and could pass along what I know.

Re: Coronation Blue vs Salvador Blue
I love the look of Pekka's dashboard. It's definitely something that I will try to do, when the time comes to get the car back to stock colour scheme. Nicely done, Pekka, and thanks for the information on where to source the product.

Re: Coronation Blue vs Salvador Blue
This is excellent information. Thank you, one and all. I have video of the elderly gentleman who once owned my car (for about 50 years) mentioning the original leatherette covered dash, which he replaced with wood. My other old 4AD which now belongs to another forum member still has the white or, pe...

Re: Coronation Blue vs Salvador Blue
Thank you, Peter. That is the colour that I was referring to, for certain. I'll try contacting Mr. Lewis, as you suggest. From what I recall, my car was a Vaughn Motors car (California) that was owned by an ex-employee up until about 2003 or 2004 (or maybe 2005). I'll try to verify that. So, is that...

Coronation Blue vs Salvador Blue
Hi, I'm new here, but I have a question about paint colours on the 4AD. As far as I know, my 1953 4AD was originally a colour that was a cross between gun metal grey and metallic blue. There is a 1955 Singer on line with the reg number CWT 246 that I believe is the correct colour. However, I've seen...
