Oil pan baffles

I have never torn into a Singer engine, but I have been inside many others, foreign and domestic. The purpose of the baffles and windage trays is to keep the oil off of the crankshaft. Windage trays are used in racing applications where high RPM's create unstability in the oil pan and cause the oil ...

Great Pictures

Thank you so much for posting the pictures of your car. I am in the middle of restoring my modified 1952 4AD. This is the first time I have seen another Singer up close. I never realized how modified the body is on my car. 95% of the wood in my car has been replaced with steel.

Fender Welting

Does anyone know the correct size of the fender welting on an 4AD?
1/16th inch 1/8th inch 1/4 inch
The welting goes between the fenders and the body.

How about the thickness of the wood shims between the body and the frame?

Thanks, Dave

4 AD Seats

Does anyone have a pair of 4AD seats they want to sell?

If not has anyone used seats from another car that fit well? Possibly MG, Triumph, Alpha Romeo????

Setting Cam Timing

This method is also referred to as the "Rabbit Ears". As long as number 1 piston is at TDC and the ears point up the engine will be in time. Also the distributor rotor will be pointing to the number 1 cylinder on the distributor cap.

NEED MEASUREMENTS FOR 4AD

My car has been heavily modified with steel replacing the wood under the dash, trunk, and floor area. The person who did it was not too proficient. I would like to put everything back in its' proper location. Can someone provide the measurements for the following? The center of the steering wheel to...

1952 4AD Gas Tank

Does anyone need a gas tank? The bottom has holes in it, but could be repaired. There is no sending unit. You pay the shipping plus $5.00 and I will send it to you.

Front suspension

I have installed the fuel injected V-6 along with the transmission in my 1952 4AD. I would like to change the front suspension to gain disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. I looked into using a Mustang II, but it is too big. I thought I remember reading about someone using MG components. Does a...

Does anyone have a listing for the paint colors for a 1952 4 AD. My car is far from stock, but I am looking for ideas.

Replacing the Door Skins on a 4 AD

I just finished reskinning the doors on my 4 AD. The previous owner decided that fiberglass would be easier to work with than the aluiminum. I started by stripping all of the fiberglass off the doors. I then made a template of each door. Very important for reassembly! I removed all of the metal edgi...

My 4AD finally arrived

My 4AD finally arrived from Texas last week. Some of you may have seen this car on eBAY. It is a 1952 that has been heavily modified. Exactly what I was looking for. The drivetrain is a 6 cylinder Ford with an automatic transmission and an 8 inch rear. Basically all Mustang. The wood under the dash ...
