Sorry to hear that David and thanks for sharing. Can you advise me and others of the Brand you used as one to be wary of? For information, I used Klear with the lightest of application, and with no issues but appreciate certain brands can be problematical to obtain.

A very rare Ranlite clockwork Singer car currently on eBay- a Light Six? The last one I saw sold for £850 in 2008.

Pretty straightforward to make. Use a copper tube, open it up and work a flat face into it. Width matches column width; runs the length of the column from the bulkhead and terminates where the tube enters the major casting component. Two spring clips as per picture. A cable tidy essentially.

PS. After owning an Austin A30, their factory fitted heel mat serves as a useful reference point for the project. I suspect they were thin and survival rates are zero.

If its a winged badge I think it touches the perimeter of the inner rectangle; another handbook clearly shows script...all good stuff for those who care!
