I was thinking about using one of the pertronix type kits that replaces the condenser & points with an electronic module, but uses the existing distributor.

Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
Has anyone looked at or tried an electronic ignition replacement in a 4AD? I am only getting about a year out of the condenser on mine. Whenever I drive any distance in hot weather my condenser acts up. I'm wondering if the electronic ignition would be a cure for this. Any thoughts or comments? Mark...

Re: 1952 4AD crankcase breather pipe
Hello Fred, I checked my breather tube last night and here is what I found. The tube extends out approximately two inches, then turns down 90 degrees for approximately two inches, then angles to the rear at approximately 30 degrees and extends for 8 inches and end with a 45 degree bevel cut open to ...

Re: Value -I apologize in advance
I have a 1952 4AD that I restored from a condition that most people would have said was not worth restoring. I did most of the work myself and spent between $25,000 and $30,000 in the process. The majority of that money went into the chrome, paint and upholstery work which I did not do. I have been ...

Re: 4 AD Axles Heat Treated
Axles are typically 45-55 on the Rockwell Hardness C scale. Your axle has been greatly improved from 20 to 41 and you are approaching the normal range for modern axles.

Re: MERRY CHRISTMAS
Happy Holidays to All! I have had a very Blessed year! I'm recovering from a cancer diagnosis this time last year. All is going very well thanks to many prayers and some good doctors. I have lost 60 lbs. (By design, not from the cancer!) Business has been good too. I hope everyone has a very Merry C...

Re: Chassis Plate Fabrication
I purchased two chassis plates (and a set of start & choke cables) from Pekka. He did an excellent job! Thanks Pekka for making a valuable service available to other Singer owners.

Re: New tires for 54 roadster
I've used 5.25 x 16 Firestone whitewalls from Coker Tire for several years with good success. They are bias ply. The whitewalls can be turned to the inside. They probably have additional choices. They are located in Chattanooga, TN but they can ship anywhere. They are a good source for most antique ...

Re: Start and Choke knobs
They look great! I would like to purchase a pair (start & choke) with cables. I am in no hurry and would also like to purchase two of your chassis identification plates for the 4AD when they are available. Let me know what form of payment is acceptable and where to send payment. Thanks, Mark Tho...

I believe the MG-TD used similar dash lights. If so, Moss Motors has them. ( mossmotors.com)

4ADs in Movies
I recall discussions from the past regarding Singers (cars) in various movies over the years. A search of the forum didn't turn up anything. I believe Lauren Bacall & Peter O'toole drove Singers in brief scenes. Does anyone recall a resource for information about this? We are having a car show i...

Armstrong Lever Action Shock Absorbers
I've been having problems with my rear shock absorbers on my 1952 4AD leaking. I've been looking for replacements for some time without success. After some research on the internet, I have discovered that they are designed to leak in order to lubrictae the shaft. That was not what I was hoping to fi...
