Re: wood body drawings, dimensions, etc.

Word of warning - exercise care! These are from one car, said to be original from factory, and as I found out not all are the same - they are a guide only, but certainly better than nothing and I could not have got by without them.

Re: Crank handle / driving light support bar

Thanks, i also overlooked the obviouse , that the number plate has to be allowed for. I don’t like the look on the front but I have little option in Australia.

Crank handle / driving light support bar

Hi, see attached. Has anyone attempted making the support bar? I have the end pieces. Rather than spend ages experimenting if anyone has been successful in making one it would be a great help. Thanks

Re: Rebirthing one '34 from a '33 & a '34

I am ashamed at my progress relative to others, but that is the best inspiration. I am currently building my wire loom, fitted radiator only to discover i need to adjust the length of my new cross member for light stands, scuttle ready for primer etc, guards getting closer. Original 30s wiper motor ...

Re: 1934 Sports

I was generously provided by a UK owner (who was a draftsman) sets of drawings taken from an “original” ‘34 car. I know he has shared them elsewhere and would not mind me doing so. Like all items of this nature care has to be exercised in interpretation as these were taken from an existing, complete...

Re: 1934 Sports

Exactly the reason you noted, he wanted to beef up the structure to save on any need for future repairs. No other reason.

Re: New Project

Try saturating the leather to the point that it is wet, and leave, with leather saddle oil. The tub I have is verrry old but works a treat, even on my tool roll. It seems to be natural lanolin base. But you have to prepared to cover it fully, put it aside and keep re-applying to let the oil soak rig...

Re: Rotax E418 generator.

Thanks, as I understand mine had the field wires removed when it was reconditioned and converted. But, after seeing your unit, I am now uncertain where the field and wire connects. Can you assist?

Re: 1934 Sports

The first two are from a rebuild by a friend in Queensland, the third is a photo I took at a UK rally some years back from what I was told was an original unrestored car.

Re: 1934 Sports

On the cars i haved looked at they all had the steel reinforcing. I always assumed it was to support the spare tyre hanging basically from this timber frame and to spread the load. It has not always been identical, creative license has entered once again, but the idea has been the same.

Re: 1934 Sports

Hi,great job. One question is the cover on the top of the rear an original style item, ie behind the top of the back section?
