Re: Le Mans tools and tool deck
Hello Darcy Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I think none of photos you attached show the original layout. I'm pretty sure my layout of the fittings of the front panel is pretty accurate - compare with the illustration in the work's manual (attached). It is the rear panel that I don't have a ...

Le Mans tools and tool deck
As part of the ongoing restoration of my 1934 Singer Le Mans 9 I’ve just completed and fitted the two trapezoid shaped aluminium covered panels that form, for want of a better description, the tool deck. When I bought my car (many, many years ago) the original front panel was there, albeit with no c...

Re: Le Mans hood and tonneau
Hi Steve I am restoring a 1934 Le Mans which still has the remnants of what is almost certainly the original hood. It consists of two layers of fabric with perished rubber in between - presumably this is/was 'double duck'. The colour of the material is black although this has faded to a grey on the ...

Thank you, think I get it now. Sorry to pester you again but is the vertical piece solid aluminium (if so what thickness), or cladding on plywood like the horizontal pieces?

Re: 9 hp Bodywork
Thanks Mike and Peter for your feedback. Sorry my query was a bit confusing but it's difficult knowing what to call the various bits and pieces of woodwork. Mike - no need to be jealous, it's taken me over 40 years to get this far (mostly in the past two years though). I've become motivated by the f...

9 hp Bodywork
I'm making slow but steady progress with my 1934 9hp Le Mans restoration (photos attached). I live in southern Spain so contact with other Singer owners is mainly limited to this forum and the SOC magazine. I have so far more or less completed the chassis and mechanics and I’m now struggling with th...

Re: Solex carbs and bodywork paint
Thanks Mike - at least I know how to proceed with my woodwork.
I look forward to receiving more information about the Solex carbs.

Solex carbs and bodywork paint
I’m plodding on steadily with my LM 9 restoration and have a couple of queries. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Solex carburettors Many years ago I bought a pair of Solex 30 IF carburettors which I was told were suitable for my 1934 LM 9. Some time later (still many years ago) I was lucky eno...

Handbrake query
Hello Everyone After it has languished in the garage for a mere 40 years or so I am at last getting to grips with the restoration of my 1934 Le Mans 9. Could someone please help me with the following: I hope I am correct in believing that the brakeplates should be fitted so that the handbrake cams a...
