Re: Mad Dogs 2010

Just a thought... If anyone has spares that are just cluttering up their garages, then why not bring them to the show? Nothing too fancy, but one person's garbage is another's gold! you may have bits that you just do not know where they go or what car they are from... let your fellow enthusiasts hel...

Re: A 4AD AUCTIONED

Finally people are recognizing the value of these cars!!!

Ok, dream mode over... that is a bit high over here, especially for a car that is in good shape and missing a few bits.

Photos would be much appreciated and any idea who the lucky bidder is??

Re: "New" Singers for production?????

Hmmmm. Nice call Mike, I did not see that part of the article. Singer with a Rover motor... that's a joke.

HA! (a joke, get it?)

"New" Singers for production?????

Just saw a press release (dated today) that the Singer name was sold to a car manufacturer who is interested in bringing the marque back. Limited production, similar to the Morgan.

WOW, I am going on-line today to sign up for one ;)

Re: TO TWIN CARB OR NOT

Hi Forrest, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In the end, the choice is yours. We have seen many cars saved only through mixing and matching. There are "cars" that are that by name only. More a collection of parts than a car really. Those restoring these into cars have their work cut o...

Re: Mad Dogs 2010

Well Bill, I am a good one for making plans to go to shows... but a bad one (so far this year) in actually getting them done! The one thing about Mad Dogs is that it is a nice 14 or so hour drive from here as opposed to a 6 hour flight (or a 3-day drive... at breakneck speeds). Do count me in for th...

Spring has sprung... gotta get stuff done!

Greetings! Mother Nature has seen fit to allow for some mild weather and no better time to get dirty! Well greasy. My Super Ten has languished for the last little while as other activities have pushed it into the shadows, so to speak. NO MORE! Since the car arrived from the UK I have actually done a...

Re: Queen's British 2010

Dave & the Queen's English Gang... WELL DONE! I am sorry to have missed the show, but glad to have kept my job (getting back from LA was doubltful at best...). Good on you to get a hold of Jay! Who knows, he may show up in a Singer of his own next year ;) And the Coupe started up!?!??! Wow, a ca...

Re: Hello 2010! Car Show our west anyone???

Here's to a great day and lots of fun at the Queen's English! Sadly, I won't be there :( Flight loads are high so available seats are gone and with that my chances of getting there and back. I did get a call from Tony Raynor and it looks like a few Singer cars and NASOC members will be in attendance...

Re: Hello 2010! Car Show our west anyone???

Cool day eh? Well I remember the morning last year... BRING A JACKET!! The rest of the day was great though. I have to say that logistics for those of us traveling from Montreal is looking grim. Flying on a space-available priority is getting tougher all the time and so far there are but 6 seats lef...

GO CANADA GO!

Ok, I try not to get to "patriotic" as this is a North American club, however for this one moment I will permit myself... YAAAAAAAAAAH! What a game! Gold medal men's hockey just finished. Canada over USA 3-2 in overtime... and what a nail-biter. A great game, well fought on both sides. Sid...

Re: Roadster Mascots

Interesting to see opportunities for parts opening up! The Roadster mascot with both the "9" and "S" are being made in New Zealand from Stainless steel. I have a "9" version and it is quite nice.

Re: seized 54 roadster engine

The 1500 engine is pretty robust so, as others have already mentioned, unless the starter dog actually broke (ie no threads left) then looks like you are ok. Two things with seized engines: penetrating oil + time = better chance of success. With my seized nine engine I used copious amounts of diesel...

Re: cleaning water passages in head and block

Hi Charlie, I am with Mike... a good dunking in a hot tank is, for me, the best bet. Otherwise you will be endlessly chipping away. Nice thing too is that it takes off all the paint and leaves the surface ready for painting. One thing though is take off any bushes, bushings, etc as they may be affec...
