Re: Carpet backed bucket seats
Hi, looking at the old backs above, it seems to carpet was tacked on first and then the hidem added? I have ordered David’s book so will check it out. If I remember my 4A had 2 inch strips around the back, but it didn’t have carpet nailed on. It is hard to believe that 1/4 inch tacks into 3/16ths pl...

Re: Carpet backed bucket seats
In the attached photo (4AD) there appears to be a solid section of wood across the inside of the front bottom - is this the piece you mean?

Re: Carpet backed bucket seats
Thanks that allmakes sence. I don’t have any original seats but was given some old 4A as templates, so i am building from scratch - the one thing that I am not clear on is the piece of wood cross piece screwed to to the front lower edge of the seat. Does anyone have some photos?

Re: New Project
Looks good, you at least have templates for every piece of original timber (including the holes for the floor), doors, linnings etc. instruments etc are also there. Should be finished inside of 6 months???? Or is 6 years!

Re: 1933/34 4 Seater Seats
Hi, thanks, my car is a bit if a hybrid, a 33 and 34 going into one. Neither car was complete or restorable. The floor has been constructed flat. I did not plan on having the seats rebated into the floor. They will either sit on the floor as suggested above or one runners. If on the floor they will ...

1933/34 4 Seater Seats
Hi, I am reaching the stage where I need to build seats for my car. Only one of the two donor cars used for the restoration had seats, they were front seats and far from original. I have Dave Hardwick’s sketches, that give a broad idea and I have a set of TR3 running rails that I may or may not use....
