Re: Steering box 4A problems

Front and rear are right, the axle is in the right position on the chassis.
The brakes are working normal with the default lengths from the bars.
I had an extra pair from them and all were normal fitting after just a few turns adjustment

Re: Steering box 4A problems

The nut is not 100 % on his place, but more than 2 mm movement is not possible because of the cone. The short arm has only 5 cm adjustment between long and short, both gives only another place from touching on the tyre. Also another way of mounting the parts does not work The first idea was the axle...

Today I mounted the steeringbox on his place, and try to solve the next problem:|
Turning to the right it goes to the max, but to the left, a bolt is touching the tyre...

Re: 46 to 49 roadster restoration Australia ladies

At the end, a clamp is there to prevent rotating. A few hours ago I got my Steering box back from a revision, and the man who rebuild him asked why the holes are there ;)
All the parts are still in a box but when mounted I can make a picture

Re: First Run of the season 2022

But everyone has Facebook on their phone and they use Facebook for personal/family/friends stuff so its easier to go there. Not everyone, I stopped because of the Facebook (and Linkedin) "hunger", and see when you are not a user any-more, a lot is blocked. As long a website like this is t...

Re: 46 to 49 roadster restoration Australia ladies

I should weld a 5 mm drill on a 6 mm rod from a meter length an use the drilling machine.
with the difference in thickness, only the old shit can be damaged.
with a little luck, the old wires are coming out after the first centimetres, when not, drill also from the other side

Re: 46 to 49 roadster restoration Australia ladies

Wiring-Schematic.jpg I had the most on this one, found somewhere on the www you can print it out and rename your own wires. The only one was the tail connection on the dash switch, but I can make a picture from mine. You have 2 next to each other, when you have the wrong one, in the first position ...

Re: 46 to 49 roadster restoration Australia ladies

The most important thing is the wire identification, when this is correct, the rest is just a piece of cake. The basic is where the cable should run, the one for the tail, tank meter etc, goes from the front in the chassis to the rear. the outgoing wire from the steering wheel is connecting to the m...

these are the original rails, not the original seat.
the wood under the rails is the original from 1950, I have to copy all for the other side.

Re: 46 to 49 roadster restoration Australia ladies

The seats and rails are different from mine, could be from a healey. I have one original complete with the original wood on the floor. Your wiring is also from another manufacturer, mine is missing the wiper cable, the headlight cables, the trafficator cables, and just have one wire for the tailligh...

Re: door rollers

Mine is sold in Belgium, with a copy from the factory certificate in my house. Since 1968 as a "car to restore', imported in the Netherlands. So at least 50+ years from the road. Matching numbers, even the right chassis number is stamped in the aluminium part under the front window. Now the las...

door rollers

deurpost.jpeg
In the aluminium bottom for the door is a hole, looks like for a roller.
I found this hole in more 4A pictures, but never an old one with rollers.
Does anyone have a picture from this one? Is it the same as the le Mans?
