Re: New Project

I think the original cars were two tone, but your Junior looks great with the Pigeon Blue (or similar) all over. My own Junior should be brown and yellow but I have painted her red all over, although she will get another scheme when I get the time.

Re: New Project

Plate in place and connected through to the engine area, though not yet to the switches. Lights function test OK with the leads being touched on the battery without the separate earth, which I found surprising. I'll run the earth anyway to be on the safe side. Rears alone didn't photo well in the li...

Re: New Project

Thanks Brian. Yes I have some which I'll install before I re-attach the plate.

Re: New Project

I have wired up the rear of the number plate holder with random bits of wire left over from other projects, so no clever colour coding here! When my new rear and stop LEDs arrive I'll test all the functions before I install this on the car. I have also run an earth to each light fitting as I underst...

Re: 4AD petrol gauge sending unit Needed

Thanks Peter - that looks like a good option. Its also really helpful to know the cars it fitted as I can probably find one in the UK if I search under American car parts.

Re: New Project

The rear lights are basically a Ford Model A 1928-31 light. You can get them in Australia from: https://www.spiritcarsaustralia.com/more-products/1928-31-ford-led-taillights-with-housing The colours are very close to patches of original paint I found under the various later coats on the car. They ar...

Re: 4AD petrol gauge sending unit Needed

Thanks Brian - I knew you would have the answer! Sounds like an option if my non-functioning sender can't be repaired. I think I could also bend the float arm so it stopped on a full tank well before the 90 ohm level while still giving me decent empty reading. I must get the Light Six's seats repair...

Re: 4AD petrol gauge sending unit Needed

Just a question - my '37 Coupe needs a 0 to 30 ohm sender which seems impossible to find. As I'm really only interested in whether I'm running out of fuel would a 0 to 90 ohm sender work to that extent??

Re: New Project

Thanks Bill. It will do and its legal! Since the original set up was heads, sides and a single rear, the LEDs are essential to avoid over stretching the charging system.

Re: New Project

Rear number plate and lights trial fitted but not tightened up. I have used coach bolts as a temporary connection to the hinges but I will change these to dome headed machine screws. I see Brian has his pork pie lights rotated to light the number plate from the side, but the dual function LEDs I hav...
