Re: Steering Wheel Removal - 4A

In regards to the trafficator and bakelite surround, are there any viable options for repairing the bakelite, or is there a more common car that has a similar diameter trafficator switch that can be used as a replacement?

Correct Fuel Pump

My 1950 Singer 4A has an aftermarket electric fuel pump which works very well. But to bring it back to original, and make it more unreliable  I would like to install an orginal style AC mechanical pump. Can anyone tell me what the correct fuel pump was that was used on the 1950 Singer Roadster....

New Owner Here

Just picked up a 1950 4A. Runs, drives and stops. Has some minor niggles, but nothing out of the ordinary for British cars. While I am looking forward to the challenge of finding parts, thought I would start by seeing if anyone can direct me towards options for oil filters, adaptors, or spacers. Rub...

Re: Wheel Color

Thank you Peter.
Just to make sure I am clear. My red car should have red wheels?

Wheel Color

I've noticed a variety of wheel colors (colours) on the Roadsters. Were these various colors stock from the factory or repainted to suit the owners taste? I am in need of a wheel repaint. Was thinking of having the hammer gray wheels powder coated in a cream color. But originality is more important ...

Re: Exhaust Pipe

Hi Steve, Thank you for your detailed response. I did send you a PM as well, but after looking at my manifold, I am certain that it is a 4 stud mounted manifold. So with this said, I would like to take you up on your offer for a mounting flange. If you can please PM me back with details that would b...

Exhaust Pipe

I found information on a replacement muffler for my 4A through a search, but I am also in need of an exhaust pipe to connect to the manifold and to exit the muffler. Any ideas where I can find these parts, or is it best to have it fabriacted at my local Midas?

Thank you

Re: Value -I apologize in advance

Thanks Mark and Peter. I have restored some other British cars that were not worth financially restoring, but the enjoyment, and the pride I experienced made it well worth it. The uniqueness of the Singer is what attracts me. I have owned cars from almost all the British marks, and I have attended m...

Re: Value -I apologize in advance

Dave and Peter, Thank you for the quick and insightful responses. With the rarity of these cars I am surprised at their low values. It seems that many newer more "run of the mill" British cars value out at a lot higher price. This is the impression I was getting, but I wanted to get some m...

Value -I apologize in advance

I am guessing this is one of the least favorite topics, and I am sorry to be indelicate with my first post. I am considering purchasing a 1952 Roadster 4AD in fair shape. Can someone tell me what these cars are worth in concourse condition. I'm surprised at how relatively inexpensive they are in rou...
