Re: New tires for 54 roadster
Mark has a great reply on Coker tires. Lucas Tires is another possibility. My only warning is do not put 5.50 on the car. Clearance issue possibly up front and if it clears you won't be able to close the boot(trunk) with a 5.50!

Re: 1952 4AD Singer Roadster light dip switch
Stephen,
The number I have listed in a Lucas catalog is 31260. It is listed as a 1951-55 Singer Nine. Probably a listing error. Of coarse nothing else has that number to interchange. Earlier and later Singers used the 31284 which a lot of British cars used. Hope it helps.

Singerites, FYI. This came from Craig. Hi David, Hopefully, you remember me?? I restored my 52 Singer 4AD with your invaluable help a couple of years ago. I’m taking my Singer back to Stowe this year along with two other newly restored cars. The purpose of this email: I am the current President of t...

Re: Chassis plate versions
L4AD1479 V is my Singer's chassis number. Yes it is a reproduction plate I acquired probably 30 years ago. I believe I have the original too but can't lay my hands on it. I do have a plate from L4AD2040W and it is identical to 1479. The only difference in the repro I can see is the bottom line For O...

Re: 54 roadster rear axle oil seals
I agree with Mike. The seal quality and surfaces on a 60 year old parts are suspect. Go with what worked back in the day on these old british vehicles. My 2cents worth.

Re: Engine Cylinder sleeve
A good machine shop should be able to do this. The sleeve should have a top ridge so the sleeve cannot move up or down. Probably would not move up because of the cylinder head but a friend had a sleeve with out a ridge slip down enough to have the top ring pop out and stop the motor. Lucky it was ju...

Re: '53 4AD front shocks
While I have not sent it out via club's magazine. I can send it out via e-mail to members or non-members that want a copy.
I also welcome input on things that will work as interchanges or close enough with slight modifications.
I do have some more input that I need to add to it though.

Re: '53 4AD front shocks
Changes have been made to the interchange list. Are there any modifications like grinding to fit lower pin?
FYI These shocks are listed for Chevy Luv and Nissan pick up front shocks 1969-72. So other manufacturers listings will work.
