Mike, Pertaining to the cracks in the block. When I used to drag race I used to concrete the lower half of the block for strength. Obviously I was only running a 1/4 mile at a time so overheating was never a problem. Depending on where the cracks are you could possibly concrete the block up to the f...

I would love to attend the gathering next year in my V6AD, but I am back at school and it would be a very long drive from AZ. I think my boss would have a fit if I took that much time off. Well you never know what might happen.

Re: New member and Brake Job / Front Hub Seal question
If you can get an accurate outside diameter measurement for the sealing surface, where the seal rides (spindle) and an outside diameter measurement for where the seal is installed( brake drum), any good bearing supply company should be able to get you seals and bearings. I do this all of the time be...

Spring Driving
Here in northwest Arizona the weather has been beautiful. I just removed the top and side curtains from my 6AD. What a blast to drive.

Mike,
I would be more than happy to help you, but a vacation to the cold reaches of the East coast for Christmas has already been planned.

Re: Over heating in 4ADT
Paul, Running only water is not a good idea. A 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze actually raises the boiling point. Also a 10-12 pound radiator cap should also help because the extra pressure also raises the boiling point. I have used the water wetter in my motorcycles and it seemed to help. May...

Mike, I reskined the doors on my 4 AD. The curve on the top of the doors is tight. I annealed the aluminum and started hammering. The old timer watching me said if the metal started to feel tight we would just anneal it again. I just took my time and the metal did not split. A light skim coat of spo...

I agree with Mike. Turkey was okay, but spending 5 days building my new garage is even better. It is only 25x30 but with a full size car lift it will be heaven. It is a good thing I own small British cars, Singer, Morris, and Sunbeam.

Cross Country Ride
I know this is not Singer related, but anyone who is interested in old cars usually appreciates old motorcycles. Starting on Friday, Sept 10th there is a cross country trip for pre 1916 motorcycles, there are 60 bikes participating. If you go to this website you can track the progress day to day. Th...

Mike, I am working on a new toy. 1952 Morris Minor convertible. Typical Arizona car, no rust except for a small spot on the frame rail where the master cylinder leaked and rotted through. I bought it from a friend of Dave Greens. It had been sitting idle since 1971. I cleaned the carb and she fired ...

Queen's British 2010
Hello Everyone, Jode and I left our home in Arizona on Saturday afternoon. We didn't make it ten miles and the left side of the bonnet decided to try and take flight. I pulled over and relatched it. We only went another five miles, and it came unlatched again. I wired it closed; problem solved. I de...

Re: Hello 2010! Car Show our west anyone???
Mike, I was planning on leaving Saturday and staying the night about 1-2 hours from LA. I did not have anywhere specific in mind. Somewhere I would feel comfortable parking the Singer overnight. At least this way I would not have to get up so early to get to the show on time. A visit to your house c...

Is there going to be any activities after the Queen's show? I will be driving about 350 miles to get to the show, so I wanted to know what to plan for.
