Re: US8155
WOW that looks good...maybe I should change my color. I had decided on RAL 6005 years ago. Its also a dark green, my wife says a bit of blue but I don't see it. I really don't know why British Racing Green is so hard to find, it seems all over the place on color and darkness.
Re: US8155
congrats, its always great to see the paint go on, it implies the finish line is near and you will be driving it soon.

Sorry for the downtime today (Sunday)
I updated the forum software and it took much longer than I anticipated.
All done and also all backed up as a full backup just in case something happens when I am gone next month, I can at least recover to today if not more current.

Re: a Two Litre engine

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
Ok, started working on the wiring diagram...I have some stuff from Lucas that has different wire colors than what Brian posted up above and I want some more fuses than the regular 2 on a Singer...then I realized I had a Lucas Electrical correspondence course, all 10 manuals...I am going to do this s...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
I like those lamps better than the pork pie, I am a year away from needing them but I do need to start thinking about wiring pretty soon when I get back on the car since i have to run the right wires to where they will be needed. Fitting the wings will be my nightmare as they did not fit well when I...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
Well the stop sign would be clipped on and easily removable, Californian's drive worse than Parisien Taxi drivers. It was just a thought, I would not want to damage that gorgeous brand new body. But yeah the Lucas ST38's would likely be far better. I also had thought about 2 D-lamps. For the front, ...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
starting to think about wiring...when I get back from France after Xmas, I will start working on the engine and it is nearly ready to drop in already. Son-in-law thinks I should buy a Sprite harness and work from that since I am putting in a Sprite motor. I think I would better off just working from...

Re: New Project
WELCOME BACK !!! this place has been dead the last few weeks (months?). I was actually worried it might never get another post until after the first of the year when I get to work on my car after I am back from a holiday trip. I don't have anything to report for my car, I have bought stuff, I have ...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
engine is assembled for BOTH the mini and the LM. We put the exhaust in the mini over the weekend, some minor wiring left and it should be done. IMG_4992.jpeg LM engine needs almost ready to drop in, I should have the engine in soon. The Mini should be going home to my son-in-law within next 2 or 3 ...

Re: 9 LM inner door hardware
So, I got new interior door handles. They are different than the one (only one) that came with my car, but they are as per the images above posted already. So, now I have the 2 springs, 2 door handles and I can easily fabricate all the parts required, EXCEPT for the pawl or whatever it is called. I ...

Re: Telescopic shock absorbers (dampers)
not really what you are looking for, but I did see a SS100 at a car show about 20 years ago that had been converted from friction shocks to Armstrong hydraulic levers, I would think they would be the easiest to convert to. Although I know on my 4AD the shocks left a lot to be desired, a proper shock...
