Re: Manifold fuel drips

Well this is a coincidence. I have just been criticised on facebook for blanking off the drain holes on my '9'. I have looked through my photos and notice that most engines have the drains blanked off. I have driven over 65,000 miles in my '35 four seater and don't recall having a problem with flood...

There was no sign of the original green paint and I suspect that the original wheels were replaced in the 1960's before the car was exported to America. The tyres too were like new but who can trust 60 year old rubber...

Re: US8155

As a schoolboy I was taught that steel was copper plated before nickel then chrome but as you say, environmental considerations mean that copper is not used anymore - at least not by RS. I have sent the radiator surround to Vernon Moss who have a tank large enough to take it and, it is rumoured, can...

Re: US8155

I don't suppose anyone has the missing ADV RET and throttle levers. I have the tubes but the levers are missing. A nice to have, but not essential so I'll probably do without.

More photos from John on the progress with the steering column. He's managed to marry a modern horn button to the bakelite disk that I found behind the door card.

Re: US8155

Hi Colin, there are videos on YouTube on how to sew flutes but they all seem to make hard work of it. Back in my youth I used hesian backing and felt padding but nowadays I would use cotton wadding. Sew the leather to the hesian before using a couple of steel rules to push the wadding through. Caref...
