Re: G'day from Western Australia
Wow..already looking good! Additional to the head discussion. I had my '36 Speed head looked at by a guy that did racing cars and bikes, including Ducati and Harley. He was impressed with the design of the semi-hemi head. He was surprised this head was used on a saloon car of the 1930's and gave the...

Re: Pre-War Singer Races for Prada!
I'd be very interested to hear what the opinion on new tech solutions like laser welding is for use on Singer blocks. Traditionally cold metal stitching has been considered the only viable method.
Good luck in with the project John....it looks like a fun one!

Re: G'day from Western Australia
LOL! I think I'd have to do the same with mine. In some places it is rusted right through!

Re: Ash Frame
My pleasure Chris and good luck with the project. I did a full ash frame rebuild on my A Series and do have photos of the process. I will try to dig them out and scan them to upload. The arches taper from front to back, being widest at the front and narrowest at the back. Unfortunately I don't have ...

Re: Ash Frame
Hi Chris, I had this diagram in my files from many years ago when Doug Elliott in the UK was producing Roadster wood kits to order. Roadster Ash Frame.jpg The only things not shown in the diagram are the wheel arches. I assume this was because Doug did not provide them. At least this gives you an id...

Re: G'day from Western Australia
Hi Thierry, What a nice find. Those bits will make a nice special! The 'rust coloured' engine is a Bantam unit circa 1936. The green engine is circa 1934/35. Cool to see one still with much of its original green paint. You should scan it for a colour reference! Judging from the manifolding and carbs...

BRITISH INVASION 2021: 30TH ANNIVERSARY - 20 YEARS WITH SINGER
British Invasion Logo.jpg Hi All, Since early in the year I've been in on-going discussions with Mike Gaetano of the British Invasion about the expectation for an event in the fall of 2021. This would be the canceled 30th Anniversary event with Singer as a Featured Marque. Everything has been based...

Re: 1934 Le Mans door buffer
My '1936 Le Mans is very original and has the petrified remains of the rollers so they have been there since new. My 1933 Sports was not fitted with rollers. Sheet metal and wood was all original. It has a different style of rubber door buffers as well. My 1934 Sport, again an extremely original car...

Re: 1934 Le Mans door buffer
Beautifully done!
These items are very often rusted rubbish, or missing!
Would be great to have a batch made up for those of us who are originalists...

Re: What coolant to use
My pleasure Mike, It's a lovely project. The carbs are original and the steering wheel is not. You can see one of the square spoke separators has the Bluemels logo on it. This is the common replacement for the Ashby Brooklands originally fitted to Singers. Reproduction Bluemels wheels are still avai...

Re: Barn find 52 4AD
Bill, Photo 2 shows the bottom...at the bottom. The louvres are supposed to look smooth on the top edge as they round over the curl. So...as Mike mentions, the "shorter" side faces down. These louvres are pretty poor quality from new. The chrome is pretty mediocre and the way they are fixe...

Re: Barn find 52 4AD
Hey William, I've been playing with Singers for @50 years and both Bill Haverly and Ashley Crossland, are old friends of mine, although Bill has passed away. They are considered the leading authorities on the Singer Roadster and neither has ever mentioned Oriental Blue. I've even had access to the l...

Hi William
I am pretty sure your car was Salvador Blue with beige upholstery. A colour scheme introduced with the 4AB

Re: Barn find 52 4AD
Yep! The 4A prefix and T suffix make it a '50 4A.
I recall that my '50 was 4A-5142-T. Thaf was a long time ago!
