George,
As I'm not in the UK, I can't recommend anyone. But if you have found someone who can make a tank that's probably the way to go. I've had several tanks made for my vintage projects, with good results.

Re: 4AD exhaust flange gssket
I fabricated a gasket from high temp gasket material purchased from NAPA, then added a thin layer of high temp silicone based sealant to both sides. Still leak free 8 years later. I should add not many miles in that time, but hey... I also used a .4" thick stainless exhaust flange I had made, w...

Re: 4ad gas filler tube grommet
Having owned Lotus Elans for years, I tried the filler tube grommet from one and it fit well enough to use. Not a perfect fit but well enough for my tatty driver. Check out RD Enterprises or Dave Bean Engineering in the U.S. Sue Miller or others in the U.K.

Re: battery terminal corrosion.
Yes, under the connector. These felt washers were common is U.S. parts stores for decades, until the advent of the side terminal "sealed" batteries. Probably still available on eBay or Amazon, though easy enough to make your own.

Re: battery terminal corrosion.
Felt "washers" with ID equal to the terminal saturated with engine oil or an anti corrosion formula like ACF 50 or the like is what I've been using for the last few decades with original type lead acid batteries. Usually just needs an annual clean and re-oil.

I've had good luck with Dynomat on various LBCs. Fairly thin an unobtrusive under carpets and pretty easy to cut to shape. However super sticky and somewhat difficult to remove once it's been on awhile.

Re: Singer Roadster Rear Seat Back fixture
On my 1954 car there appears to be never have been a latch. The cover boot for the folded top is attached to the top of the seatback, and when the boot is fastened around its perimeter on the body the seat is 'retained'. Not sure is this is stock or not, but my car appears to have been very standard...

Re: 4ad heater? Solutions?
There are a number of aftermarket options used by the hot rodder community, several of which have a nice period feel to them. Also, I've seen, but do not recall on which site, reproductions made in the UK of the aftermarket Smiths heaters used in pre and post war cars. Most I've seen use hot engine ...

Re: replacement radiator block
On my 4D (very similar radiator) I simply took my leaky rad to a local repair shop and they replaced the entire core (block as you called it) with some "off the shelf" new part. Looks super and of course cools much better without the leaks.

Re: Ring Gear for 4A
Paul, Um...I don't get the "remove the ring gear and rotate 180 degrees". Isn't that the same as just rotating the engine by 180? The starter pinion and ring gear do not engage at the same point, over and over, due to the large variance in diameter between the two. Every time the starter i...

Forgot to mention, I just use DOT 4 brake fluid from NAPA with no issues. Modern seals are pretty forgiving if running basic DOT 3 or 4 fluid.

Re: Looking for parts '54 4AD
Thomas, These cars are fairly rare so finding a driveshaft assembly will be difficult. Are you sure the shaft is bent? It's not uncommon for the shaft to rub the floor pan if the car is loaded down or the rear springs have sagged. A bent driveshaft will cause horrific vibration at even moderate spee...
